The Middle East is a region where automobile is king and fuel is low-cost, often leaving little reward to find more environmentally-friendly ways of walking around.
But this year, as protests across the Middle East have actually pressed up the price of oil, the problem of discovering alternative sources of fuel has come into sharp focus.
In a region that has among the greatest carbon footprints worldwide, one service is taking of the growing pressure to find alternatives to oil. It's established the Middle East's first plan to recycle cooking oil into biodiesel. It's proving profitable too, currently their client-list contains McDonald's.
